Intellectual Property Right sensitisation programme conducted by office of CGPDTM and FICCI held at Jaipur on 23rd December 2008


The office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks under Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIP&P), Ministry of Commerce & Industry and Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) conducted Intellectual Property Right Sensitisation Programme at Jaipur on 23rd December, 2008 as a part of nationwide IP Awareness campaign. This programme was attended by about 150 participants from industries, law firms, advocates, patent attorneys and technical institutes and universities. The inaugural session of the programme was presided over by Shri Damodar Sharma, Principal Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Government of Rajasthan. In the programme, Professor Dr. Alka Chawla from Delhi University on copyright and industrial designs, Shri Rohit Kumar Vohra, Managing Director Aayam Herbal (P) Ltd, Jaipur on utility model protection, Ms. Nav Preet Kaur from K & S Partners on Trade Marks as IP tool, Ms. Sheetal Chopra from FICCI on Intellectual Property Rights and their economic importance, Shri Anil Kumar, Deputy Director, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, New Delhi on Building Awareness on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for MSME in India, Shri Dinesh Jotwani on Integration of IP into Business Strategies and Dr. K.S. Kardam, Assistant Controller of Patents & Designs, Patent Office, New Delhi on Overview of Intellectual Property Rights for Business and Utility model system made presentations. The programme evoked lot of response from the participants. At the end of the programme, a quiz contest was held and the winners were awarded with cash price. This was followed by distribution of certificates.
